Airfields
Much of our flight training is carried out from Christchurch International Airport giving students experience in a busy and varied air traffic environment. This provides students with knowledge and experience of air traffic services that will help on cross country flights to other controlled aerodromes. |

West MeltonThe Club operates a satellite airfield at West Melton just 8 kilometers away. This airfield with six runways provides the Aero Club with its own uncontrolled aerodrome just minutes flying time from Christchurch. |

RangioraRangiora Airfield is home to the North Canterbury Branch of the Canterbury Aero Club. The airfield has its own facilities and provides another great training airfield within close proximity to Christchurch. This Branch operates on Saturdays and Sundays and provides people who live in North Canterbury with a closer alternate, but with all the advantages of the Canterbury Aero Club. Both these airfields are outside the Christchurch control zone and are free of landing and airway restrictions. |
